THE TOWN MANAGER, RYAN CANNON A MESSAGE FROM

The single most important document the Town uses to plan for our community is the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is the overarching vision of how the Town will develop and grow in the future. Based on the Comprehensive Plan, other planning documents are then created to support the goals and visions. Those documents are the Unified Development Ordinance (zoning and development Standards); Thoroughfare Plan (transportation and streets); Recreation Impact Fee Plan (parks and trails); Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan (trails and sidewalks); Stormwater Management Ordinance (drainage). These plans together implement the vision of the Comprehensive Plan. I am really excited to share with the Community that the Town is about to embark on an update of the Comprehensive Plan. It is imperative that the Community participate in this process. This is the Communities opportunity to provide input on what they want Avon to look like and become. The Council wants to create a bold vision for Avon’s future, but it can’t be done without the help and participation of residents in our community. There will be numerous opportunities over the next 6-9 months. Please come out, we are ready to listen.

We will post more information on our website www.avonindiana.gov as public input opportunities become available.
