CHAINSAW TRAINING 2024 The Public Works Department, alongside the Parks Department Maintenance Crew, recently attended a chainsaw safety course conducted by a town insurance company representative. The subject matter included 1) transporting, use, and storage, 2) care and maintenance, 3) chain sharpening and adjusting, 4) safety precautions, and 5) protective gear. The course also covered the importance of recognizing potential site hazards and how to plan accordingly to avoid the risk of injury. The instructor also discussed cutting methods typically implemented to control the direction of falling trees. Overall, the course provided valuable tools and reminders for the proper use of chainsaws.
